Four On The Floor

Floor sanding is no walk in the park. Actually, it's one of those jobs which would have one considering a quick change of career, if not for the truly satisfying results. So, when the client asked for a whole first floor sanded (study, dining room, living room, kitchen, office, bathroom, all pine wood), we were anxious to reach that far off finish line. For the first half of the job (the study, dining room, living room, and kitchen) we pulled all the stops. Not only did Caleb spend the majority of his week on his knees with the edge sander, but in addition to Father and I running the drum and orbital pad sanders respectively, we had a friend do some spur-of-the moment pinch hitting for us with the oscillating sander (thanks, man). Four pairs of hands and the nearly 1/4 inch of wood we had to shave off the floor still took two straight weeks of work, although non-consecutive. In the end, however, a few coats of clear coat had those floors sparkling clean.
