About Dragonfly

In another age, somewhere back in time, a handshake meant something.

How we got started

A few years ago now, our Father called a family meeting. My brother had gone off to art school in New York, then migrated to Michigan to work in a theater there. As for me, I found myself in Alaska, then Virginia, then North Carolina, and even in the Caribbean Sea, learning honor, respect, and devotion to duty in the United States Coast Guard. While each of us had learned many diverse and distinct lessons from our adventures, there was one thing which, it seemed, we learned simultaneously.

There really is no place like home.

And there really are no people like your people.

So after our adventures we made pilgrimage home, to live near family again. Mother and Father were away helping mitigate disaster damage down south when hard times came upon their rental property. Caleb and I had to step in, each helping to remedy the situation with the unique skills we learned in our respective fields. Caleb became the face of the family and I even had to dip my toes into legal work. So, Father decided it was time for us to band together as a family and go into business. A contractor himself of almost forty years, he stressed to us how he saw us working as a family, supporting each other with trust and widely diverse skill sets. Furthermore, he lamented how culture has changed in regards to business dealings.

In response to our Father's encouragement, Caleb and I started to build Dragonfly. The dragonfly is seen as a symbol of transformation, purity, and healing in many Native American tribes. In this spirit, we now strive to rebuild our community, both physically and spiritually. Every job we complete furthers these ends.
